BiometricStrength enum
Biometric authentication strength level.
Only Android distinguishes these. iOS/macOS only have strong biometrics (Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID), and Windows Hello always authenticates strongly.
Values
- strong → const BiometricStrength
-
Class 3 biometrics only (e.g. fingerprint, or face recognition with depth sensing). Every prompt that unlocks a key requires this class.
- weak → const BiometricStrength
-
Class 2 biometrics too (e.g. face unlock without depth sensing).
Only for
simplePrompt, and thebiometricAuthAvailablecheck before it. A Class 2 biometric can never unlock a key: signing, decryption, and the promptcreateKeysshows withenforceBiometricalways need a strong biometric, or the device credential where allowed. Aweakcheck that reportscanAuthenticate: truetherefore doesn't mean keys can be used; check with strong for that.
