To be able to format dates, all you need is to provide a datetime object and a desired formatting as String, as input to one of the two functions - formatDate or formatTime.

Run this command:

With Flutter:

 $ flutter pub add format_date

This will add a line like this to your package's pubspec.yaml (and run an implicit flutter pub get):
