Peak of the gel swell, as a fraction of the shell's size.
The swell is not a width effect: natively the entire capsule — height, radius, glyphs — puffs up together while the cluster is already travelling toward its new width, then relaxes. It scales the shell about its own centre, so both edges move outward.
