Text style for the hint text. Uses a sensible default when null.

Its font size, weight and family are shared with the typed text, so the field does not change metrics as the user starts typing. Its colour is the hint's; typed text takes textColor instead, and falls back to this colour only when textColor is null. To mute the hint while keeping the typed text strong, set both.
